akebono brake pads? Koni FSD suspension?

Akebono "Euro's": I put 'em on the wife's Passat and my A6
quality ceramics, nice sedan pads, clean and quiet with real nice "pedal"... but both had problems with their backing plates in the front being slightly undersized... clanks and clunks, a pain to resolve. I finally resorted to blacksmithing technique, hammering the plates to expand them slightly and filing to reshape.. It worked Ok, they fit the calipers properly now. Set that aside and I still wouldn't recommend them for a spirited driver or sporty car... I can't say with authority, but I have a "feeling" that the friction material is better suited to cruising than sporting...

Steve- I actually had a serious Euro driver make the recommendations.
I personally prefer a Stoptech or similar IBK (Improved Brake Kit) and that neat caliper stiffener kit.
The Koni FSD are relatively unknown to me, and I'm am literally about the jump onto all-new suspension. I lean toward the Bilstein Sports, but they are choppy (yes, I have a set on another car). Seems the Koni FSD and Eibachs may be a decent trade-off (we all make compromises) since this is neither track-demon nor DD.
As for 'breaking wind'- well, we'll see about that!
