Default Alcantera Steering Wheel Option on '03 TT Coupe

Okay, I've searched the archives, but to no avail. The Audi Web site and the '03 brochure do not feature a picture of the Alcantera steering wheel option.

I'm currently dealing on an '03 TTC 225, and one dealer asked me if I wanted the Alcantera steering wheel. I said, "I don't know...what the hell does it look like?" Nobody seems to be able to tell me.

Thanks, all.

Default I don't have any pics but it kinda looks like off-gray suede.

I have seen them though, they look real nice but I'm not too sure how easy they are to clean, or keep clean.

Default Look at the suede-like stuff on the backs of the seats and on the airbag cover

...(the airbag cover on the outboard bolster of the seats). That's alcantara; it's meant to be a more durable, washable suede replacement. Good stuff. I wish I got one, but I bought off the lot.

Default Ah, yes, that suede-type leather...I see. Hmmm.

Thinking I might opt to save the $175 and stick with the smooth leather. I love it on my S4.

The Alcantera I do believe would eventually rub smooth and look bad. In pristine condition, I think it's great and a potentially worthy option. But after only 20K or 30K miles, it might be regretted.

...and I personally think it would get dirty and stained like crazy. Not worth it, IMHO.
