Default With all this talk on racing seats and harnesses...

would it be possible to get a racing seat that I could just pop in for track days? I'm not interested in a nice set of Sparo or Ricaros. I mean it would be nice, but I don't want to drop the money on it and the TT is my daily driver, and the stock seats aren't bad.

I would just like to be able to pop in a racing seat and harness for track days then throw the stock seat back in and cruise home. I assume I would need to fabricate the bracketry to hook up the other seat. Any other concerns?

Default doesn't seem worth the hassle....plus a seat like a Sparco Milano

or Recaro SRD will feel so nice you'll never want to swith back even for everyday.

Default I want to do this too, but I need to to comply with the broomstick rule. I need to lose 3" of seat

height... In other words, I need a shell that I can bolt to the floor...

Default what hassle? a seat swap should take less than 30 min...

plus you can get a cheap racing seat for less than $100. The seats don't need to be nice leather seats just to keep me in place.

Default its a hassle because you've now added another 30mins of

prep time (if everything goes smooth), plus you now have to some how squezze another seat into the TT plus all your other track supplies.

can you show me where you can find a, even half way decent, racing shell for $100??
Let me know because I'll buy some right now.

Default 30 minutes isn't a big deal...

I usually spend every evening the week before an event just checking things over anyway to make sure I'm good to go. I don't take extra wheels or anything so fitting the seat shouldn't be a problem.

As for the price, I just did a quick search on eBay and some online race shops. Looks like you can get a pair of seats for $2-300, I only want a driver's seat. I'm not looking for a high quality seat, just one with a sturdy frame that will hold me in place. I obviously don't want it to fly apart in the unfortunate event of an accident.

Sure. But I'd do shells on that route. When it comes to safety, going cheap it not recommended.

Helmet must stay under imaginary broomstick extended from windshield to roll bar.
