Andrei Kivilev died as a result of injuries sustained in yesterday's Paris-Nice stage.
He fractured his skull, went into a coma and never recovered.
Today's stage is being ridden non-competitively as a mark of respect.

Reports say this is an injury that could have been far less...
if he'd been wearing a helmet.
So I'm sure the pressure to mandate helmets will start up again.
Personally, I hate them. I find them too hot (and they look really dorky).
