another ecu question.
but the technician said that the chip might not fit. he said there are more than 10 different applications for each chip (even though it's same year, same ecu code number).
he said there are secret code inside that might not match my ecu.(basically it's impossible to match other car's ecu to my car).
is it true? or is this guy trying to sell his product?
i see many people sells ecu over the internet which requests only same ecu code.
i am confused~~~
please help me~~~ trying to get chip tune for bargain is getting tough now~~~
thanks guys...
If the new ECU's code doesn't match the code stored in your cluster then the car wont start.
This secret code is supposed to be a dealer only secret but some tuners are able to get it somehow.(This is the part I dont understand).
It seems to me that this code should be your own intellectual property since it is unique to your car and you paid Audi for your car, but apparently Audi hasn't been forced to see it that way...yet. Good luck.
Dan
Once it has the correct code it can be swapped with the old ECU, and visa versa, as you wish.
