Default Another quick q about a chip

I was looking at this chip on ebay as opposed to getting like an APR. It's much cheaper, but i notice on the 225 it only has 252hp after the mod, whereas with the APR, it claims about 270. Is this still a good chip for the price? What should I do?

Ebay chip

Default Well....you are going to have to pull your ECU, remove the chip, probably soldered......

in, then solder in the performance chip. If you've never soldered before, I would pass. If something goes wrong you have nothing to fall back on. They will probably replace the chip, but if a problem arises with your ECU you are out of luck. If you are still under warranty, that would be voided once you break the seal on your ECU. Go with a flash.

Default Back away from eBay. Get the good stuff.....

Revo, MTM, GIAC, APR: solid performers with a huge development program.

Default Only have it chipped by someone local. Should you have a problem, then you have someone

to go to. All the chips, APR, Revo, GIAC, etc. are all abou the same so I would go with whoever is local and reps one of those.

For me. I have the APR chip in my 01 225 and now have about 85K on it without any issues.
