Any good place to send my busted cluster?

Hi guys. My fuel gauge is kaput. My local shop confirms that it is the cluster and not the sender.

The recent class action settlement does me no good as I have a 2001 with no documented history of problems.

So - I've seen there are a few competing services that will take your cluster and fix it for about $250 or so.

I have heard there are places you want to send your cluster and places that you do not want to send it. Anyone have any good or negative feedback from individual service providers?

TIA.

A few places? only one I've heard of is BBA Reman. Who are the others?

I need to send mine in. Also a 2001, but mine has already been replaced once. Now the 2nd one's fuel and temp gauges are both misbehaving, and the senders appear Ok.

when was it replaced? the cluster replacement warrantee covers time from

cluster in service date, so if you got it replaced in 02 or later, you're in luck.

not as far as I understand... MY+6yrs, not based on the age of the cluster....

in my case, the car went into service in Oct 2001 and the cluster was replaced in Jan '05, a little more than 3 yrs after delivery. The replacement started showing symptoms in late winter ('08) again after about 3 yrs. Although I argued for it in my objection letters, my reading of the settlement doesn't include the age of a malfunctioning replacement.
