Any one else have door latch problems? i just dropped car to

dealer for 3rd time with same but worsening problem. Started a few months ago with door open alert on dash going off while driving, then interior light would flash on and/or the window would go down/up a few mms. The dealer's diagnosis was faulty door latch and they replaced it. Seemed to take care of problem but then I noticed the window woouldn't go all the way up into the seal and at high speeds you could hear wind noise. Back to dealer who again said it was the door latch. The car seemed ok for about a week, then door open alert started alarming again, window going up/down a few mms, and I had to turn off interior lights to stop them flashing on. The gap at the top of the window was also getting worse, some times you could almost fit your finger in it. Then the car alarm started going off while parked. That's when I realized that even after I'd parked and locked the car the window continued to go up and down 5-10 mms, I guess that's what was setting off the alarm. Any way like I said the car is back with the dealer getting another latch replacement. I just hope that takes care of the problem especialy as I have to drive to Napa (400 miles) this weekend hopefuly without listening to that bloody door open dinging and the wind whistling in my ear...drove me nuts! Any one else experience same problem and was/is it the door latch? BTW problem is only on driver side.

I wouldn't go to the dealer....I would go to an exorcist!

would that be covered by my warranty????????

If they've replaced the latch 3 times it's probably not the latch...

have them start looking further, perhaps replace the central locking unit? If they won't do it then find another dealer.

Ask them about the sensor/switch for the door and window.

sounds more like an electrical issue than just the latch.

Exactly!

The problem is most likely not with the micro switch within the latch but with an electrical component/system down stream from the latch.

YES! I just had exactly this problem start 2 days ago - everything that you mentioned is happening. The dealer also said it was the door latch, and it would take 10 days for part to arrive. If you don't get wet from the window being down partly (of course it started raining today), then the damn "door open" buzzer drives you crazy - in between the "interogation" interior light going on anf off. I also switched mine off. Other than that!! I love this car - just had it 4 weeks.

Just picked up car and basicly told they couldn't figure it out

Of cource they couldn't "reproduce the problem" I asked to speak to the technician and he agreed that it's not the latch and probably electrical. He's waiting to hear back from some audi expert. Also said they might have to replace the other door latch as what you do to one side you need to duplicate on other side!!!My concern now is if it is electrical should I wait 'till audi figures it out before I get my V-1 installed. I've an appt. next week for an auto stereo place to hard wire it, I don't want audi to try get out of warrenty. Also (sorry to ramble on) my car phone just last week stopped working. It gets power but doesn't mute the stereo or go on speaker. I don't think it's related..do you??? I don't know much about cars just know I looooove my TT, so all your expert knowlege and advice is very much appreciated.
Thanks Barbara.
