Default Any problem going between different sized rims?

17 to 18's and vice versa. The mechanic that replaced my right front cv boot mentioned that there are specific boots for various sized rims. Wondering if wheel swapping can affect the cv boot. Maybe a stupid question but had to ask. Thanks!!!

Default never heard of that...

there are specific reasons on going to larger diameter wheels, like to clear a BBK or something like that...not CV boot to accommodate a larger diameter wheel. so what's he trying to sell you?

Default OMG!!! Here we go again.>>>>

The CV boot is not related to the RIM size... the shop in question may have been using a parts guide that references the factory wheel size.

Just think about it, if you bolted on another set of wheels 5x100 any size, would it make sense to change the CV boots? No, the CV boots wrap around the CV and the axle shaft which are entirely different than the hub.

Default So you're saying they don't use a different boot with different TT models, based on the rim size?

=P
