Anybody messed with factory seat brackets to gain more room?
Hi Guys, wondering if there is anything to be done with the factory seat brackets to lower the seat? I know on some cars there are extra holes or shims to be removed etc. Thanks.

If you dissasemble the seats you'll see that the rear of the seat is suspended by two springs>
if you cut those springs down you'd likely get more room. I think they sag over time anyway. I'm 6'2" and fit in my drivers seat with a helmet on with 1/2" of headroom to spare. But in the passenger's seat, my helmet hits the headliner. I think it's because the passenger side springs haven't had the weight over time to settle in that the driver's side did.
I haven't cut my springs, but I did pull some cushion out right under my tail bone. These seats were horribly uncomfortable for me on long trips right at my tail bone. Much better now with that chunk gone.
How tall are you?

Re: how much of a job is it to disassemble the seats?
Thanks guys - I am 6'6" 34" inseam - headroom is fine its the leg room under the wheel that I want to work on. Figure if there is anyway to lower the seat past the factory point it would be very helpful. Thanks!

hardest part may have been getting the clip loose for the seat heaters and airbag under the
seat. just tough to get in there to release the clip. Seat disasembly is easy, just take pictures and work slowly. I don't think you can set off the airbag once it's unplugged. And if you do, it's time for Sparco Milano's...
