Yes not advisable OD is only 24.2" you need OD of approx. 25"

Default To maintain speedo accuracy and gearing maintain stock OD which for 225/45/17 tires is 25"

If you go to the link below which happens to be for Yokohama tires you can find charts that give the various tire OD's for various sizes

60 mph will show as 61.6. 245-40 is closer but probably too wide for 7.5" rim.

It's a great idea for a track tire. Bigger footprint and better effective gear ratio with a shorter tire. I would do it in a minute. However, for the street, the '40' is more likely to bend a rim on potholes.
