just curious as to what prices everyone paid. thanks in advance =)

And how does the aftermarket paint hold up on it. My A6 is already chewed up pretty badly.

Default auto body shop should be able to get exact paint right?

or at least damn close i would think

Thanks, not worried about paint match....worried about paint chipping faster than OEM bake job.

I don't believe the baking does anything other than cure the paint quicker

Sadly, I would be surprised if anything could chip faster than OEM paint job

Default I would imagine that an aftermarket paint job would hold up better because...

at the factory, the paint is applied mechanically, so it is possible for the machine to apply a very thin coat of paint. When a shop applies paint by hand, it would seem to me that the paint would go on in a "thicker" layer, which in turn should withstand chips better than a thin (i.e. factory) paint layer.

Of course, this is all my own speculation that comforts my mind since my front end was recently painted. )

Default Mine was recently painted as part of an insurance claim......

I'll check my invoice tonight, but I recall it being in the $300 - $400 range (painted at dealer's shop)

A painted front bumper was part of the ALMS package, I do believe. 8^)
