What were the symptoms? What I thought was maybe a boost leak and engine stuttering last night seems like something much much worse. The problem definitely feels like its coming from the back end and it is more of a drivetrain slipping feel than anything else. Happens in every gear only under load. At speed with revs down low and no engine load its fine. Even in 6th from about 3000rpm I can get it to happen.

Sounds clutch-related to me.

Default Yeah but it doesn't feel like a slipping clutch, revs stay where they are.

That's why I'm thinking Haldex clutches. I've got an appointment on Wednesday to get the Haldex service done (I'm at about 59k miles anyway). Hopefully that fixes it otherwise I'm not really sure what to do next.

Mine felt that way when the plugs started going bad and misfiring.

Default did it feel like it was coming from the backend tho?

Even the tech that drove it said it felt like it was coming from the back end. I checked blocks 14, 15, and 16 today and they were all at 0. It really feels like something slipping.

Default My clutch didn't feel like a slipping clutch either -- it only slipped on the HWY.

It felt like the traction control was kicking on, even though the ESP light wasn't blinking.

On the other hand, that could have just been because my car was crazy boned.

Default My symptom were a rumble sound turning right or left at intersections.

It would do it at both normal and spirited turning. Also, while turning, the steering wheel felt as though it lost its power steering capability.
The final tell-tale sign is burnt, chunky haldex fluid or clutch pieces.

As much as I hate to ask, what was the final bill?

Default Yes.

It would only happen on pretty strong acceleration, and when it missed, it felt like the back end was dragging.

Default the haldex and final drive were R&R'd

it would have been about 7-9K.
Haldex alone is about 4k. An option is a rebuilt one.
Now I don't know if my final drive was bad or not, but it was changed out, too. I don't know if they work in tandem or just an enterprising dealer milking AoA.
