Anyone interested in the HMS V6-Concept TT? I am, but I need opinions... ->>>
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/7673/galerie_a201.jpg"></center><p>I am trying to do a small research if the whole TT V6 concept is feasible?
I was in Germany approx. 2 months ago, so I had a short test-drive and I spoke to the owner of HMS for 2 hours. I've also got their official proposal with a break-down of the prices. Of course if someone get the whole package he would get a discount, but still the total price is not a joke.
The guys at HMS do lots of modificaitons of virtually everything in the car. This TT monster looks and feels like a rocket. However I'd like to asses the risks involved with such radical re-design of the original TT.
A few days ago Shaun@SG asked me to send him whatever materials I have regarding the HMS TT V6 Concept. I've got the HMS proposal scanned, so I could send it to anyone who is interested.
I am ready to post more technical details regarding the mods if anyone is willing to discuss.

i would be very interested in seeing the brake down of parts. i have a 2001 jetta vr6 in storage i was going to install in a older vw but if i could figure out how to mate the vr6 to the 1.8t tranny or some thing to adapt them. i may look in to this more.

It seems that this board is predominantly US residents
and that would make for a difficult conversion.
HPA in canada uses the same parts/hardware as the HMS which might be a more viable option

Some details...--->
Basicly the guys wanted to put a V6 engine into a TT, however Audi's own 2.7T engine does not fit. They've got the new 3.2 VR6 engine from VW and have managed to install it in the TT. The initial quote for a brand new VR6 engine was approx. 11K USD, however they recently found an alternative supplier for the engine from Portugal for approx. 6-7K USD.
The specs in summary:
Engine & Transmission:
3.2 VR6 Bi-Turbo w/ water intercooler (two water-radiators with electrical pump + water intercooler on top of the engine)
Oil cooler
Gearbox oil cooler
Stock Haldex
525bhp & 720NM torque
0-100 (0-60mi): 3.8
0-200 (0-120mi): 13.6
Max speed: 315km/h
Brakes:
6-piston in front, 14" rotors (optional ceramic)
4-piston in rear, 12.6" rotors (optional ceramic)
Suspension:
KW - DTM Racing Kit - height and stiffness adjustable
Wheels:
BBS - Challange ultra-light-weight Magnesium, 19"x9.5
Tires:
245/35 Y 19
Bodyworks:
Wider body (don't know the terms in English) to fit bigger wheels/tires. Aerodynamic changes, bigger rear spoiler, etc.
Gearbox / Clutch
Modified 6-gear manual gearbox with clutch designed for 800Nm torque. (What about the gearbox itself?)
Exausts:
88mm completely new exaust-system w/ sport cats or w/o cats. The sound is adjustable ;-))
Other mods:
Plenty of small mods - seats, interior, roll-bars, 6-point seat-belts, etc.
