Anyone know how to get the smell of exploded battery acid (sulphuric) out of foam rubber & carpet?

My 95A6 under-rear-seat battery expoloded two nights...
ago when I tried to start her up to head home after dinner. Scared h*ll out of me...a lot pop. And everything shut down except the dome light. When I yanked it, there was a two inch chunk of plastic battery case blown out the top and acid permeating the underseat foam cushion as well as an 1/8" acid in the battery well. The next morning's light showed three sides of the battery splintered and shattered in addition to the two inch topside whole. A literal mess. Coulda been worse...put in a new diehard and everything works, no blown fuses, just restting the clock and radio.
