Isn't running your plate in the window legal?

What happens to your head when it's hit by sheet metal at 30mph?

Default Technically, no. But I've been doing it for the past 2 years without incident. However,

I do plan to install it. I've been looking into fashioning a mounting plate that would avoid having to run screws through the front panel. If that doesn't really work out I'm considering Euro plates...

I think you can get away with Euro plates as long as you don't get pulled over. But if you do get stopped by a cop, they WILL say something. That happened to me with having it in the windshield. I was in a parking lot and hadn't done anything. The cop was just doing a routine patrol and had nothing better to do. So he just gave me a warning to get it installed. I've passed numerous patrol cars, even spotting a cop looking my way, and nothing. But having a license place in the window is unsightly... I'd rather relocate it.

Default You'd have to be accelerating pretty damned fast...

for the license plate to come flying at you going 30mph. It actually sits very snuggly in the gap between the dash and windshield--I've never had it come loose, even with extremely hard cornering.

If it's just the screws you are concerned with, magnetic mount is another option.
