APR-Chipped 225 TT -- Clutch + flywheel recommendations?
Apparently when my slave cylinder failed, the clutch was also destroyed since the Audi tech said he "found pieces of clutch" everywhere. It was nice and grippy up until the end so I presume it was some kind of acute attack on the clutch which is just bizarre.
Chip is of the 263hp/267lb-ft variety. Also have P-Flo, Forge DV, and exhaust.
I have ruled out Spec based on reviews here. Looks like Sachs has good reviews.
Are ECS/Stratmosphere the same company?
I do not plan for any future mods. I want just what I need and nothing more. I'm not putting another OEM clutch in either since it seems to be common for them to fail anyways.
Thanks.

I like my Spec Stg 3 very much...
ECS and Strat are not the same company. At all.
Stratmosphere kicks ***.
I'm guessing the Stg 3 is going to be overkill for you. If you don't have plans for any MASSIVE power mods in the future, I think another stock clutch will be fine, to be honest.

:coughtoldyasocough:
LuK is the OEM clutch. ECS Tuning sells the LuK kit for $299 which is a good deal.
Sachs is fine too if you find it elsewhere for cheaper. But I doubt that.
The flywheel is dual-mass and likely cannot be resurfaced. I hope that yours is not heat-damaged.
BTW the leaky slave cylinder would have damaged the clutch. Not some "acute attack." EDIT: The OEM clutches are fine. I'd just get another and be done with it. Thought you were picking up an M3 anyway.

Don't know what the :coughtoldyasocough: means since I had agreed to replace whatever needed to be replaced after the transmission was out and they could make an assessment.
I am going to buy an M3. The TT will have to be working again before I can sell it.
What is your recommendation for a flywheel? The Audi tech "recommended" I replace it.
The LUK kit is a good price at Dial-A-Clutch as well ($269). Their website is kinda low-budget though. Who ships faster: ECS Tuning or Dial-A-Clutch?
I'm having this stuff shipped directly to the dealership.

never heard of dial-a-clutch but if you're worried>
about shipping time call them and ask how soon they can get it to you. ECS ships pretty fast in my experience.
my recommendation is to look at the flywheel and if it has any discoloration (blue or black) it should be replaced. otherwise it will destroy the new clutch in short order. probably about $400 for a new one.

All ordered, will be delivered tomorrow.
I ordered everything from ECS, including a new Master Cylinder for good measure.
Sucks being I'm selling the car, but at least I'll have peace of mind that I'm not selling someone a time bomb.
