APR says TT's cant run DirectPort...
i heard that TT's dont enough memory to take on the DirectPort chipping.
Looks like they cant do what Revo has beeen doing with serial port chipping on TT's.
Time to stop waiting around for APR. Thanks for the false hopes!
anyone else hear the same?

Here ya go: Just got off the phone with them
Some TT's are not able to be DPP'd because like you said, There isnt enough memory for it
They will have to just Chip it. He couldnt give me a list of the TT's that couldnt be DPP'd
so I guess if you go to get your TT DPP'd and they say you can't, now ya know why

Re: APR says TT's cant run DirectPort...my personal experience
Back in March right after I got my '03TT225, I contacted APR about a file for the car. They of course had none for the new BB box. I was offered a discount if I would send them my ECU to download the code, and when they were done (would not commit), they would then let me know about a chip. I could never get time to do this due to personal schedule. Meanwhile, another showed up and they got code from him. Since there was now public talk about DPP, I contacted APR on several occasions and they said that they would almost certainly have the serial port program ready for the BB since they'd have to check/modify code anyway. They kept telling me it probably would be ready by time end of July rolled around, which was when I just happened to have a trip coming up to Alabama. July passed on by and not even a chip available. It's frustrating when someone can't be more definite, so now I'm not so sure what I'm going to do. They try so hard to keep public in the dark regarding future developments that they won't keep certain individuals updated on progress of something they've agreed to do with them...somewhere there has to be a middle ground without giving away R&D. I had contacted REVO a couple months ago and they have nothing yet. It seems GIAC is the only one with a chip available at this point for the '03 BB ECU's. I'm getting a bit tired of driving around in this OEM slug and unless something happens within next couple months, APR has lost another. Who knows what will happen with the '04's.

I just had my TTQR chipped on Friday and.....>
I asked about the direct port programming. I was told that they can program the 180's but not the 225. He sais the word from APR was that it would be about 6 months until the 225 program would be available. I have a 225 so I went with the soldered-on chip install. Works great... I love the power. Now I am going back to the same shop today to have my Samco pipes installed. Ahh... the joys of modding...

Re: Here ya go: Just got off the phone with them
This info is partially correct. Some tuning will be delayed a bit due to differences in memory. Our engineers are working to provide tuning for all models as we speak, including those with less memory. I do not have a definite date for availability but I suggest that you keep an eye on our web site for more info. Thanks.

I talked to my source at APR, some 225 TTs have 512k memory, EMCS needs like 1.2mb -->
So it is taking them a while to trim it down to fit in a 512k memory slot.... But according to him DPP will be available.
