Arrgghhh ... Looking for Good Body Shop in Boston Area
 

Hi.

Some Jacka$$ rear-ended me while I was stopped at a light over the weekend, causing damage to all of my rear panels. Luckily, nothing worse, but his insurance company says they are going to have them repaired rather than replaced. Anyone know a decent body shop in the area, preferably off 128 between Newton and Lexington?

HIS insurance company shouldn't be calling the shots.

It's damn difficult to repair those urethane pieces to be as good as new.

Yeah ... that's what I told them ...
 

but they said its their policy to try and fix them 1st. They said that if it doesn't perfectly fix them, then they will replace them. Seems like a waste of time, but that's how they want to handle it, and its their money.

And John P, the reason his company is "calling the shots" is that in Mass, a rear end collision is always the other guy's fault. I don't have to report the accident to my insurance company, and the other guy's rates go up, not mine. If you have any info on how I can convince them to just replace the parts, I'd appreciate it, but they appraised the damage, and said this is how they want to deal with it.

It seems that the body shop then, is not fully aware of the problems involved...
 

Having the insurance co. potentially pay *twice* for repeated paint work, is a waste they are assuming without taking in to consideration the whole time/cost/customer issue.

Sorry, they are just wrong here.
