Default Well . . . (long)

Independent shop where I get my oil changes done had the belly pan off and noticed some "wetness" on the transmission where it transfers power back to the rear of the car (tranfer case?) on a round looking thing up under the car (we were standing under the car). They said fluid may be seeping out around the seal that is up there and notified me that they'll keep an eye on it and not to worry right now. (I had just driven back from a 1,300 mile road trip so this leakage may not show up on normal commuting.)

So this a.m. I see just a spot of purple liquid on my garage floor and am curious.

Default Could be "purple" from picking up dirt on the side of the trans.

You know - the coolant temp sensor is right above the trans - and some coolant lines. Coolant looks purple - and is a little oily when you touch it... just a thought. Keep an eye on your coolant level - and it wouldn't hurt to change trans fluid and watch for a leak.

Default Thanks . . .

I may take it to dealer for diagnosis and hope that cpo warranty will cover tranny seals. I have 64K on the car but cpo still in effect.

There you go - a warr. is a good thing if it's your seals!
