Was that with a VAGCOM or generic reader? Do you hear it spool down after you shut the engine off? I'm having this code periodically, but also fuel trim fault, and a boost fault which tells me I have a leak. I can hear my SAI spool down if I am paying attention.
Also, it is a 225 tt or the 180? There are a lot of differences between the 2 that might behoove you to post on the tt forum.

Either the pump is bad or the hose from it or the $100.00 plastic "manifold that wraps around the engine which is fun to replace with the engine in the vehicle is cracked.

So just to make sure I understand, the SAI does take air from the uncharged side of the intake. Is that the long plastic pipe you are referring to? I assumed if you had an intake side problem beyond that long pipe, it may manifest itself in an SAI fault.
