Default Question about ECU stuff.

After letting the ECU reset, is the dealer able to know that the ECU had been reset since delivery? If so, is a good excuse something along the lines of the battery dying because I left the lights on?

I'd like to keep the whole deal 'under wraps' for the most part, as I'm afraid of warantee issues (aren't we all). I'd rather just drop the valve in, and then forget about it. I have a service coming up in about a month and a half, and I'd rather it just not even come up. Any suggestions, or thoughts on this?<p>

Default Reseting a chipped ECU won't harm it, right?

Default Yeah, Chris...here are some thoughts...

Not every Audi tech is named Jason Dale...in fact, very few of them are. The tech that works on your car probably won't even notice the Bailey valve. The tech that drove my car didn't even guess that it was chipped; the only thing he was interested in was reproducing the rear shelf rattle--and he thought the noise I was hearing was from my case of cassettes in the trunk area. I asked him what he thought of the drive, thinking he would say, "Wow, what did you do to the car, it rocks." The only thing he said was, "I think the noise you are hearing is from your cassettes in their case." Go figure!
