Default Been away for a while.... need opinions.

With the job, the girlfriend, and a death in the family, ive been away for a while but found some time this morning to hop on here...

I am hoping to get some time soon to work on a few things i promised a little while back, like those alcantera ebrake covers and some pictures. But I will be traveling for work (NYC a week, Bangkok 2 weeks, Munich a week.. ) so I have to squeeze everything in.

With that said my job will be relocating in 6-12 months and I am not sure what to think about it. They will be moving to either Basel, Switzerland or Munich, Germany and will be offering me a position over there and sponsering my visa. Anyone know anything about either city? is it worth moving to europe?

Also do any of you south florida guys have a body shop you can recommend? I have heard mixed opinions on my previously recommended shop so I want to find some more options. My whole front end needs resprayed and then some...

And Bob... do you have a haldex wrench?

Default Ex-pat status can be a good deal. You need to be outta country for at least 18mo. for the best tax

breaks.
Munich would be better than Basek, IMHO.

I've traveled a lot in Europe, and a relo there would be great for your resume and your state of mind.
You need to see/hear/feel how Europe does business.
Makes a very good job prospect in the future.

Right now, my International experience is putting me on the top of others in a very lucrative job deal going down right now.

Basel is nice, and the quality of living in Switzerland is unrivaled.

Default Munich is larger, and a beautiful city. Nothing against Basel, but I would pick

Munich in a heartbeat (I did do a 6-month internship there as well).

Default before you move, make sure you sign up for VoIP with someone like Vonage, this way,

your friends from the US can still call you like a local phone call while you're in Munich or Basel. you can still keep in contact with the US that way and cut your phone calls stateside.

Go for it. I wish I could live and work in Europe. Any openings at your company? =)

Default Ditto. I set up 6 voip phones over our V-Sat connection in Fallujah.

Ported over my local number too while I was there and told my friends to give me a call.. Its hard to explain to someone where you are at when you told them you are in fallujah and they call your home number lol. Half the people thought I was messing around and never left. A bit of a delay too over the satellite connection.

Default Stuttgart or Auto Salon...the only two shops to ever touch my car!

The first one is in Fort Lauderdale and the other is in Pompano Beach.

Who will take care of your TT while you are away for so long?

Default Right now my title is...

Business development and implementation analyst. Mostly though its project management as we handle every aspect and person involved in multi million dollar contract bids from the proposals to the rates to the implementation of won business.

I have a feeling the move would be to Munich.
