Big Brake Kit Questions....
I'm Considering both the Stoptech and Brembo BBK's, and I understand that both have their respective pluses and minuses, however a few questions remains for me....
1. Can you install either kit without the use of spacers?(for the record I have a 3.2 TTR with factory 18" nine spokes)
2. How annoying is the pad rattle on the Stoptechs(the reason i started this project is to eliminate the rear splash shield rattle at 37-41 mph, but since the car will be on stands, I'm considering changing the fronts while I'm at it)
3. I'm assuming that moving from a single piston to a four piston caliper, even with a slightly smaller rotor, is worth the effort?
4. Boxers or briefs...oops, I meant slotted or drilled?
Thanks in advance....John

Some say the RS 4 9-spokes will clear StopTechs.
Mine, however, did not. They spun freely in the air, but when the car was on the ground there was contact. FWIW.
Also, slotted.

Hey--- If you do this, I want your 3.2 rotors and calipers.
Seriously. :-)

Still waiting not so patiently!
I will keep the weekend open so that I can act at the last minute if that is how it goes down.
Say a prayer for me to get in!

Not sure on #1, #2 have never had any rattle with mine, #3 yes definitely. Much improved pedal feel
#4 depends on your usage. I've found that drilled worked better than slotted in wet environments (although that's comparing stock brakes with drilled zimmermanns to Stoptech slotted). But, there's the risk of stress fractures around the drilled holes that you don't have to worry about with slotted. Cross drilled does look better although then it becomes difficult to match the drilled pattern on the front rotors to the rear rotors. Much easier to find matching slotted rotors for the rear.
