Boost Gauge Wiring

Received my Defi gauge this morning. Looks sharp!!! Any problem with wiring in the ashtray area to power my gauge?

D gauge?....>

Power there should be fine...You might want to tap the light blue lead off the headlight switch if you want it to dim though...

Re: D gauge?....>

Steve, It's from the DEFI BF series. I was just thinking since it's going in the left/center vent, the ashtray wiring is closer and maybe more convenient. Would'nt the ashtray wiring still be dimmable for the gauge? Thanks. Joe.

Do you have the controller? ...

That wires seperately and then the gauge just plugs in..

You really need a switched 12V (which the cig lighter is not). Since you have to drop the lower dash for that, you should probaby run dedicated wiring....
