Default brand of gas make a difference??

the guy i bought my tt from told me that he used only chevron gas, and if he had to use another brand he could tell a difference and then dump in a bottle of techron to "clean it out." obviously, i use 91 octane because it's the best we have in california, but does anyone have a preference on brand? i use shell out of convenience.

Default yes! neither the TT or the GTI would run well on Texaco gas

especially if it was cold out...

Phillips 66 works great for me so far.

I think it all depends on what refinary the gas comes from and the station itself (IE its holding tanks...)

I only use Mobil/Exxon 93. Car runs bad on cheap gas with tons of additives.

I found the same thing with Texaco. I was running low and grabbed some. Not good.
