Default Buy coupe or roadster? Please help...

I know that this has just been posted not too long ago, but I need some advice and would really appreciate some tips/comments/etc. I am in the market for the tt obviously, and have already asked about which color to buy. Now I am torn between the roadster and the coupe. I went to check them both out the other day, but cannot decide just based on looks. I am a college student, this will be my primary car. I live in Atlanta, GA so we do not have long long winters or snowstorms and such. What do I need to know and consider in deciding between the two? Thanks in advance.

Default cargo area, aesthetics, and performance...

a coupe has the advantage on all three.

that said, 'topless' is a very powerful word.

Default College student, one car......in that case forget the roadster

Coupe is more practical by a wide margin. Both rear seats fold so you get a station wagon too. When comes time to get home for the holidays you'll regret only having the roadster. Add a passenger and your really limited.

Default I am in the ATL, roadster for me. It is not impractical at all

you can get lots of stuff in it, not as much as a coupe or a SUV, but enough to get by.

If interested in used, drop me a e-mail jgriffin@mindspring.com

I am selling my 01 225 roadster.

Default The lines of the coupe do not compare with the roadster.

This was the selling point for me. With the top up on the roadster, the car actually doesn't look that good in my opinion. That plus the insurance is cheaper on the coupe, the car itself doesn't cost as much as a roadster and they weigh less than a roadster so they are just a hair quicker off the line. Of course if none of these factors matter to you then go for the roadster. For me, it was a no brainer. -Doug

Default Even though I had a top slit open in ATL a few yrs back....

did not deter me from getting the TT roadster. Just suggest you carry comprehensive. You have great topless weather....go for it!

Default Although I think the coupe is a gorgeous work of art,

I have a roadster. I wanted a roadster because I love the feeling of driving one, especially on a beautiful, scenic day. I also still love the excitement of watching the top come down (calling Dr. Freud...). But that's me- I don't ever want to own a car that's not a convertible/roadster. If storage space is an issue for you, the roadster doesn't hold very much, but I find it adequate for an attache case, sports equipment, etc.
Fortunately for you, with the TT you really can't go wrong no matter what you choose. Good luck- you'll LOVE the car!!!

Default Give me a ragtop or give me death!

You are either a ragtop man or you are not!
Nothing is better than driding on a warm nite with the top down, music up and a swett lady next to you!
