Search on DV - if it is sort of a honking then you likely have the dreaded, but easily fixed, crappy Bosch DV problem. The hard part will be sorting out all the opinions on which DV to replace it with. I have the Forge DV's on both my TT's and have had not trouble since they were installed.

I know all about that ! I've been having trouble with sencond gear synchro for over a year. I show up for the repair with the Forge DV and they tell me that it has boosted the horsepower and caused the failure. I pointed out that it was in for service with this problem before the DV failed, and I replaced it. No joy - butt heads all the way. You can install yourself, get the black one - it doesn't stand out. If need be you swap the dog back for your trips to the dealer.
