Default A/C temp question.

How cold does your A/C air get? Mine works decent but I cannot get that "beer chilling" cold that I have seen in other cars. Just want to make sure mine is working to spec.

I usually keep my beer in the trunk, but my AC gets pretty damn cold.

Default Re: Just had new compressor put in and is still not that cold

Especially in the real hot weather- above 90 degrees. I know what you mean about not as cold as other cars though.

Thanks. No major complaints here but In hot weather (So Cal) I have to keep it in the 65° range to feel a little chill. Just wanted to see a consensus around here on A/C performance.

Default With temps in the low 90s I have to turn mine up to 70 not to be too cold.

Honestly I'm extremely impressed by how well the air conditioning works in this car. It's cold immediately, cools down the interior pretty fast, and it can make it way too cold, which is a good thing as my last cars could barely make it cool enough.

The heat, on the other hand, kinda sucks.

They used to do "recharging" on freon A/C systems in cars... not sure if they do it nowadays with these newer R134a (?) systems.

Did you just get your TT or have you had it for a while and just noticed it not being very cold?

I got it in Feb and we had a looooonnnng winter/spring so it did not get alot of use right away. It seemed really nice for a couple of months then the cold air just stopped. I took it to the dealer and they fixed it under warranty but this first weekend post fix.. it just does not seem to get that cold. I have to turn it down to 63-64 just to get it to feel cool on (Temp = 90s) and I never remember having to do that before. Thanks to your post I will make the dealer fix it right.

Default Good luck with it, hope they can figure it out without too much trouble

If it does get really cold on LO maybe the thermostat is messed up. I really don't know what could be the problem but it's not right that it doesn't get very cold.
