Default California Emissions Standards

Anyone know if TTs are 50 state cars? I want to buy a car in California but I live out of state and don't want to take a horsepower penalty.

Thanks,
Kevin

Why would you pay all the extra California fees and taxes? It's a lot cheaper to buy a car outside the state and drive it until you get a fit-it ticket from CHP.

Not like I've ever done that.

I am doing this so that I don't have to order the car.

I live outside of California where we do not have these emissions standards so I don't need the car outfitted in this way. So I am wondering if the TTs that are marked as meeting CA standards are actually different, or if they are just stamped differently at the factory when dealerships in California order them. If the latter, I have no problem buying the CA car. But if the TTs in California have less horsepower because of CA emissions standards then I will think twice about buying the car in CA.
