can anyone recommend aftermarket 17s that survive potholes damage-free?

Most of the BBS rims probably do... SSR forged as well
but that depends on the size of the pothole and how hard you hit it!!! after a point no rim is going to survive without some damage (like being bent out of round slightly)

Most of the comments I've seen on the SSR Competitions
are that they bend really easily. Even without hitting potholes.
I bent 3 of my BBS CHs on potholes, on the inside lips. They were very hard hits on holes that were under water that I couldn't see in the dark. I was amazed that I didn't break the beads and get flats. Was able to true them right up at Wheel Werx in MD.

Ive got SSR Integrals...I have hit some really deep jagged potholes hard..
so hard that it caused trim inside the car to fall off...And you smack you head against stuff...rim holds up fine...would recommend these to anybody..mine are 18 by 8 with 225/40
