CD changer problem

My changer freaked out today when switching from CD 1 to 2, wouldn't let me switch CDs or do anything but switch to radio (though I did find a decent program on KUSF). It reported "error 3." It did start to work again after ejecting the cartridge and re-inserting. Anyone know what the error code means? Or had this problem? It is the factory Bose in a 2004 225CQ.

CD Changer is awful ...

I got the same thing (04 3.2 TTR / Bose) -- switching CD's I'd get an error 1 code, and the changer would skip that CD. Pretty soon after, I'd get the error code 3, and the changer would hang until I ejected the magazine. Daily occurence. Audi has ordered me a new changer (under warranty). I am scheduling the install (along with a new convertible top) in the next week -- waiting for dealership to find an "upholstery shop" (??).

Thank goodness for the iPod.

Your new one will do that too. At least my 2nd one did. Phatbox fixed that problem

I think it's an environmental problem.

I see those when it's cold/wet outside, and the car interior is ambient. Once warmed up, no problem.

Actually it was a warm sunny day in San Fran...

of which we have had three this year. Thanks for your feedback, though.

Humidity? Do you park outside/in a cold garage?

Food for thought. I have these about once a year, especially WHEN the weather changes.
