Default Check Engine Lght P1128

According to my Audi DTC book P1128 aka DTC 17536 is the Long Term Fuel Trim mult., Bank1 System too Rich.

Any thoughts on this problem? The car is running fine. I'm in southeastern wisconsin and the temperatures have been up and down lately. 60's over the weekend, down to the 20's by Tuesday, when the light came on. I'm wondering if some sensor got a funny reading and caused the light to come on even though there might not be a true problem.

I've got to get a bently cd ordered for this car, but if anyone can shed some advice until it arrives, I would greatly appericate it.

thanks
-Jeff

Default You can get both or either...>>

Rich or lean readings which generally indicate a bad MAF or O2 sensor...

I had a feeling that it could be a bad o2 sensor. I replaced the #2 o2 sensor in May and I've been waiting for the #1 to go bad being that the car has reached 76000 miles.

Would there be a way to test the O2 and the MAF to find out which is the troubesome unit?

thanks

Default There are some output tests you can run...>

But you need a Vag-com. O2's are only $25 at world Impex, so probably worth changing out if you already had one go bad. At 76K, if you're on the original MAF, you need one of those too...($45-80). Basicaly cheap fixes should get you back in shape...:-)
