Default Check engine light came on yesterday, dealer said might be able to schedule me in 4 weeks.

Needed VIN first. I asked about what to due when the overheated cat catches the car on fire (fault code: secondary air injection flow incorrect). Was told A) Why do you have a computer to check engine codes. B) Try taking the gas cap off & then put it back on & drive for a few days. C) You can always just leave it here incase we get a chance to look at it before 4 weeks transpires.

Nothing like class A service.

Sounds like time to find another dealer.

If another dealer is not an option... call Audi Customer Care!

Default Had same problem...

This was the beginning of my turbo malfunction problem. I would have the dealer look at your Diverter Valve and if the car is old (i.e. made early last year) have them put a new OEM valve. Helped me, no more check engine lights. No clue why these things are related but it was fixed with the valve replacement.

Default Thanks, DV went south @ 6500 miles; been putting up with the noise for 5000 miles

Wanted to see what the response to the "N" version was, from this forum it appears to be more of the same.

Default IMHO, response to "N" DV is unclear so far (unless I missed something)

The only alleged "N" failure I recall seeing so far is the one that
supposedly broke with 10 miles of installation.
I'm not implying that it wasn't broken, but that seems way too soon
for any kind of the "normal" stress failures that we've been having,
unless other factors were involved (i.e., that particular valve was
defective from the start, or maybe it was damaged during installation,
who knows what other possibilities...?).
So I'm inclined to set that one event aside and wait for more info.

If I've missed other reports of "N" failures, please correct me and accept
my apologies, but the only "N" installation reports that I recall have all
been fairly recent (and therefore haven't accumulated enough miles to
tell one way or the other yet). Obviously we'll know more as the miles and
months pass...

Still clinging to hope...

800-822-2834. This is exactly what customer relations must know about this dealer.

Default My N DV was quiet at first, but after 10 miles of high RPM driving, it whistled a little, now, alot

I suspect it is the valve and not the installation because for a few miles, the TT felt amazing, tight, and quiet. I think the rev's tore it, and continued from there. Just my opinion. Whistles like hell now.

Default No offense intended, but...

in my book, 10 miles at redline is still too soon for a 'typical failure'.
Sure, your valve is probably defective, but maybe it was bad out of the box.
There are always going to be some (hopefully small) number of widgets
of any type that are rotten from the get-go, but they don't necessarily
spell a trend. Given the small sample size (1) and the extraordinarily
short failure time (1 day, 10 miles), we need more data.

BTW, did you ever confirm that they really installed "N"?
(I dunno if you can see the part # on the DV or not?)
Just curious...
