Default clearbra material on headlights

I've had it on for about 2 years now. I'm tempted to take it off, but before I do is there anyone here who doesn't have the stuff on that wishes they did? The paint surfaces are no brainers to me, but the lights I'm not so sure of.

Lights are expensive to replace. Why remove the film?

Default leave it on!

I have the X-Pel covers, and love 'em. Think of all the rocks that aren't gonna break those $1500 lights. If they get worn or discolored, just remove and replace with new ones.

I've never heard anyone having their light break due to debris...

Default I'd heard of chips, no breaks, but...

at $1500 a pop, do you really want to find out? The front end is certainly a vulnerable location - if you can crack a windshield, I don't see why not a headlight. I suspect the risks are higher in snow country where sand and gravel are found on the roads in the winter.

You didn't say why you were considering removing the film. Any special reason? From more than a couple feet away, you can't tell its there.

I like the light output better without the film on it. Had two cars side by side, with and without, and there was a slight difference. There are some imperfections in the film as well . . .
