Clutch noise

Clutch noise
I have a 2000 TTQ with 11K miles on it and have noticed a metalic whine when depressing the clutch to shift. It happens in all gears and is very noticable. It sounds like its coming from under the car on the driver side. Has anyone else experienced this?
2000 TTQ Amulet Red

It's not the clutch, it's the "lift-off throttle rattle" caused by a bad diverter valve

Is this the "whale song" noise I asked about a few weeks ago?
I hear a whine - mid pitched - usually on startup as I push and release the clutch. If it is the DV, I would like to replace it. Is this an easy thing to do myself?

Thanks for the 411. From what I read, AUDI is not being very responsive to this new problem? Has there been any official word from AUDI on the issue?
2000 TTQ Amulet Red
