Kim we can have some compromise here...
If you limit these kind of posts on dead celebrities, ie dont make them daily, keep them marked as off topic then I dont see why we cant try it out for abit to see how it goes...does this sound reasonable?

Just don't understand why "Dead Celebrities" marked "OT" would be any different
from me posting I had a fantastic day today and was going out to have a margarita....actually, the dead guys/gals are more of a learning experince and more worthwhile than my post. Maybe a moderator's preference on what he/she rather see....that's my problem. Go ahead and take off policy violations: FS, nudity, etc., but an aircraft carrier and a dead celebrity do not meet the giggle test of policy criteria. The slippery slope is here ;-D

I understand this is an auto forum and we all love our cars...and like to talk about them. I find this very useful in that sense. But, I don't want to spend my time in the off topic forum searching through the who farted best and what fly ho I can mack on or who whacked it at work to find the people I consider friends.

I'm not looking for a specific solution to the Dead Celeb issue...I'm using it as an example of how
arbitrary the moderating on this forum is...
I can understand deleting offensive material...but if OT is permitted...and it offends no one...Why do I need a compromise...?
Believe me....It's the spirit of the argument...not the life of death of Dead Celebs that I am obejecting to.

"OT" is "OT" plain and simple ... unless it violates an AW policy.
Guess what, if people got sick of the Dead Celebrity posts, they'd let Kim know in ways that she'd get, and they'd stop. Please let it go a little, Dave.
