could a bad front strut interfere with abs/esp?

in a hard right, uphill corner today, abs engaged for no apparent reason. I've also been hearing a big of clunking from the front right strut, so my fear is that the strut might be gone.

just for additional info: there is some play in the outer tie-rod end on that side, which could contribute to the noise, and I've been meaning to replace the front swaybar bushings as well. thanks guys!

very unlikely... how "hard" and how "right?" sounds like esp engaged as it should have based on

inputs from the various sensors. have you checked for codes in the ESP controller to ensure those sensors are functioning properly? if no codes I'd say not to worry about it.

thanks man

it was more of a tight right-hander than a hard right, which is why I was confused about the abs/esp engagement. it usually doesn't even engage like that during a hard corner while autocrossing.

I'll look for codes tonight when we stop in Kansas.
