Cross-country drive questions.

Cross-country drive questions.
I understand the issues associated with the "break in" of the car as they have been discussed extensively in the forum. The question I have is what special considerations need to be addressed during a cross-country drive? In all actuality, I will pick up my Roadster tomorrow and begin my trek back to San Diego. I plan to take it easy for the first 500 miles or so. After that, what else needs to be done? TIA
225 TTQ Roadster silver/black/black

Re: Cross-country drive questions.
TP, don't use the cruise control (maybe that's obvious, and be sure to vary the rpms. I alternated mine from 5th to 6th gear and back every now and then. I've also heard that it's a good idea to drive up a few hills at a higher gear than you would normally use. Something about seating the rings, I think. Congratulations and enjoy!
