Default Dead instrument panel :-(

This morning I started up my car and discovered that none of the gauges, date, or odometer were working. The dashboard lights for the guages are also out. The center display was partially working (it started telling me I had low oil pressure) but the temp said -0.0C and the distance to empty read 0 miles. None of the self check features or other modes on the display worked. I hooked up my laptop using VAG-COM and it didn't find any fault codes with the instruments.
Does anyone have any ideas? Has the gauge cluster gone out? I'm not sure why it suddenly says I have low oil pressure. The oil level is fine so I am not sure what else could be bad.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Stephen

Default could be a cluster...but check the voltage on your battery>>.

12.3 volts or less, and i would be willing to bet that is your problem....

Default Original battery?

If so, you're due. Check that first

Definitely check the battery before trying anything else.

Default Thanks everyone for your help!

The shop will look at it first thing this morning and I have my fingers crossed that its just the battery.
