Dear God someone please help me!
Subject: VDO Boost gauge install.
I've searched the past threads and found SOME info, but nothing definitive. (Sorry in advance for my frustrated tone, but I've just searched the threads and then drove all over the planet for 3 hours and still haven't found the answers) Here are my problems...
EXACTLY which vaccuum line do I splice into? (pics would be nice). I've seen/heard of several different ones being used.
I know the T fitting has to be a 3/16 on the two linear ends, but what is the other end supposed to be? (And where on earth do i find a copper T that small, Advance Auto and Home Depot didn't have 'em.)
VDO says to use a nylon/copper line to run to the gauge, but how the heck am I supposed to connect the nylon line to a T fitting? Is there another way without a nylon/copper line? I saw Bipe's pics (see pic, hope Bipes doesn't mind me using it here) using a regular vaccuum line, but then how do I connect that to the gauge? No one seems to have a complete, definitive, detailed install guide on this yet.

see that silvery disc in the right side of the photo>>>
that's the Fuel Pressure regulator. Remove the line at the top side.....this is where you will "splice" your vaccuum based gauge...its not electronic right????
Anyway...get some silicone/rubber hose..cut a small section off the FPR, say 4 inches or so....with hose clamps now, NO zip ties! ;-)
once the hose is on the fpr side, insert the "T" fitting in one end..and the other end opposite, slide the hose that was on the FPR goes on the other end....ya with me??
Now, you have one fitting left...that is where your gauge line will go....measure enough to get it the silicone/rubber hose thru the firewall to the gauge...make sure you have more than enough, you can always trim...
Then connect....should work...clamp everything DONE...

I used the instructions from the AWE boost guage. Then I hooked it to the secondary air >
instead of the FPR by mistake. Whoops. The kit I used had a PE line that tighly squeezed over the T fitting. It's been working great since the mechanic where I bought my VDO guage and tubing kit showed me that I wasn't using the FPR. Live and learn I guess.

But if I'm using vaccuum line to run to the gauge, how do I connect the line to the gauge?
Since the gauge has a threaded nub about 1/4in in diameter as an attatchment point? I don't think I'll be able to stretch a 3/16in line over a 1/4 inch nub.

did the gauge come with hose? if so...use that>>>
most rubber hose is pretty flexible...and you are talking about 1/16 of an inch...you should be fine...u can use a bit of wd 40, but put in on LIGHTLY...you do not want it IN the gauge. Apply it to the outside of the 1/4" nub on the gauge side..use a papertowel with WD40 in it..no spray

Pic of the back of the gauge (think it's the same one, looks right)

note the big fat copper nub, that's the one I have to connect to... (ignore the arrows)
