Defeated - handsfree install
Holy crap - I am giving up on the cell phone integration. All I managed to get was a constant mute function and no sound or mic functionality. I have been working on this for over a week now with no success.
I have a T730 motorola phone and bought a Motorola handsfree for it - S9658D.
Has anyone had any success integrating a T730 phone into an 01' or older Roadster?
I used the following directions:<ul><li><a href="http://home.mindspring.com/~spidey3/TTPhoneInstall/">http://home.mindspring.com/~spidey3/TTPhoneInstall/</a</li></ul>

Just didn't work..
No sound through the factory speaker, wouldn't "un-mute" - the radio displayed constant "phone", regardless of if I tried to place a call or not.

You need to make sure the sound from the phone is reaching the audio system

Yes ......>
Jeff Bipes made for me sometime back the plug that goes in the back of the TT that directs power and current sensing to the RJ45 plug in the TT.
I had the in-car kit, with control module, for the 730 and wired the control box in with the Bipes wiring.
I used the speaker and mic that came with the control box. When the phone rings, the radio goes to mute and says phone. I push the little button on top of the phone and answer. I have the microphone wire routed up the passenger A pillar and along the windshield and mounted the mic at the rear view mirror post. People say there was minimal "tunnel" sound and the speaker that came with the unit worked great. I mounted it up under and behind the ashtray.
I also had the phone cradle installed on the OEM "horseshoe" tunnel mount. I was extremely happy with this setup.
Several weeks ago my company decided we all needed these bulky blackberries. I have now given my kit back to work.
I've got to figure out a way for this Blackberry to now be mounted and work in the TT.
In short, don't even consider using the built-in mic in the TT.
Good Luck
