dilemma. need advice on trading TT or selling it.
ok. here goes. my TT is a 2001. new car gets in about mid august (right when the model year changes). (admittedly poor quality images included)---
TT has:
1. 52K miles (about 54K by the time my new car gets in).
2. one accident. repair of driver's door and replacement of driver's front quarter panel.
3. 3 rear bumper repairs for minor parking dings but the bumper never needed to be replaced.
4. never been modded.
5. PS2s with 5K on them.
6. mild curb rash on all 4 rims.
7. little ding right on the character line of the driver's door thanks to someone's else's car door.
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/1145/dscn2128.jpg">
8. long 4 cm vertical scratch without ding (but very visible, down to zinc or primer of paint, on the pass door) thanks to someone else's car door.

9. no front heat shield thanks to DC winter.
so the question is this. is it worth spending the money to repair the car in order to make it worthy of private sale or should i just take my chances with the dealer by going for the trade in? i am sure that the dealer will go over it with a fine tooth comb at trade in time and look for reasons to devalue it which is why i don't think that merely repairing cosmetic things will net me a higher trade in value.
now- no flames. i would never sell the car privately without complete disclosure.

Depends on the dealer. Unfortunately, TT's don't hold their value well at all.
You may be able to get something out of it on the open market, but your dealer will likely make the experience much less stressful and may give you a slightly better rate...
Talk to them about the trade in, and if you're not happy with what they say, go for the private sale.
