Does anyone else park far away from other cars in
parking lots? My wife and I went out to lunch and parked waaaay far away from everybody else. We sat by a window where I could keep an eye on my TT (she graciously accepts my automotive paranoia). Sure enough, a crapped-out older Camry came along and instead of parking where all the other cars were, the driver parked right next to me, even though I parked in a very desolated area!! And to clinch the insanity, the woman who was driving decided to change her baby's diaper in the back seat, door wide open, from the same side as where my TT was!!! AAAUUUGGGHHH!!!!!!!!

sympathetic..
Others still seem to ram shopping carts into my car (previous S4), or park next to the TT no matter how far away I park it.
I watched "in horror" : ) the other night as an SUV pulled up next to me while I was sitting in the car, and a kid swings open the door, (barely) hitting my TT, not even noticing or caring, of course. Luckily for him there was not even a trace of damage.....

Hey guys,
I do the same thing. About three months ago I parked in a remote area of a parking lot near a local supermarket. It was a beautiful Saturday morning and I had the top down. I was shopping for about fifteen minutes and when I returned I saw this twenty year old Chevy parked right next to me. No damage to my car, but I thought it was really weird. Maybe the owner of the Chevy likes to take long walks.

I try to park in a corner lot if possible with one side of the spot being the concrete......
in case anyone HAS to park next to me, they can only damage one side if need be. I have only been hit in a parking lot once. This is obviously once to many times but it was very minor. I can share your concern about going out of your way to make sure that you are way out there where no one else will park. I have almost always come back to discover someone parked next to my TT no matter where I park, so I figure what's the use. I think others go out of their way to make sure they **** you off by parking right next to your car. The only other thing you can do is put some padding on the side of your doors when you park. -Doug

Put these stickers on you car to discourage them > >

In my case, no matter where I park, it seems like some 4-door dually pick-up pulls in crooked inches away from me. :-/

Just today, I park in the outer reaches of Circuity City, and actually across the line
on the passenger side into a striped area. I come out and find an X5 parked no more than 18" from my car.
