Default Doh! Door wont open from outside but it opens from inside.. how hard is it to get to the latch..

i was at work and went out for a drive to get some mobil 1 grease for the DV. when i went to open the door at first the latch wouldnt pull out all the way??? needless to say the door didnt open. on the second try i pulled a little harder. now it just pulls out all the way but doesnt open. it does however open from the inside. so iam guessing either the cable got unhinged or some plastic tab broke.

how hard is it to access this part. i dont want to wait to the weekend to fix this. i was thinking of doing it tonite with a flashlight unlesss some one chimes in and warn me that iam about to tackle a 3 hour project.

Default the plate in the door jamb might be misaligned...

you might want to try that before taking the door apart

Default Are talking about the alignment bracket in car itself. if so, i doubt its that because it opens from

the inside just fine. i had to lower the window and use the inside latch to open the door to get in.

Default It's a bit tricky to do all of this. Chances are this cable came loose.

You will need to remove the door card, and the whole latch assembly to get at this cable
You can of course open the coor card to inspect this before any removal.

Good Luck

I don't think you can. Open the door card and see what's there first.
