Door/Headlight buzzer & Chime goes off Intermittently

Door/Headlight buzzer & Chime goes off Intermittently
I have a 2001 TT and the Door/Headlight buzzer and chime go off intermittently while I am driving.
There are no warnings on the Dash and the car is running fine.
I have taken it in for repair and one shop replaced the door lock assembly and another shop removed the instrument panel and replaced the buzzer but neither corrected the problem.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix?
If the only purpose of the buzzer is to tell me the door is open or my lights are ON is there any harm in just removing the buzzer?
