Default DRFBCANTYOUMORONSDRIVETHEFRIGGINCARISPRETTYOBVIOUS

The A4 got hit... again. My girl was driving it, stopped at a light, and a dumptruck decided to change lanes right into her. The damage is from the front right tire on the truck turning into the door. "Uh, sorry, I was uh, looking at my map and didn't see you" the driver said.

No one was injured, so thanks be to that.

Absolutely terrifying was the fact that I was on the phone with her when it happened. All I heard was some crashing, a muffled scream, some garbled sounds and then silence. If you've ever wondered about this sort of situation, let me tell you - it really sucks. I flew out of this building at warp speed... must've done some pretty bad speeds getting to her. Obviously, the damage in the pics shows how minor it was, but after what I heard on the phone, the scenes playing out in my head were not fun.

Surprisingly, the first estimate was for only $1,800. This includes replacing the whole door.

This is the second time for the A4, and coupled with once for the TT, that's three hits in 12 months of combined ownership. I've decided that if you really want to off someone, put them in an Audi and tell them to drive around all day. It seems Audis are crash magnets. Eventually, they'll be hit enough times to kill 'em.

Default glad she is ok. What shop did you bring it to?

Bring it to Queen City in Redmond. Pretty good work. I had problems with them, but then again, I was their FIRST TT they repaired. Very good paint job.

Default Hey,J.First estimate was at Bellevue Auto Rebuild. Queen City f%#ked up big time last time around...

We went with them based on their reputation. We brought the rear bumper job to them and they were a bunch of a$$holes to her. They were, first of all, a good $500 more than everyone else's estimate (significant b/c we were gonna pay out-of-pocket. Later did ins.), and they couldn't justify it - it wasn't the labor rate, either.

Then, they simply didn't repair the exhaust. Like, it was all bent out of shape and they denied that anything was wrong with it, blaming it on the insurance company for not bringing it to their attention. WTF? When we convinced them that it was broken, they replaced it - ON THE WRONG SIDE. The bent side was still messed up. So we brought it back and they stood around and laughed at her, calling her unreasonable and saying "they all look like that," which was absurd, because one side was a half inch from the bumper and the other was like four inches away and sticking out much farther. They refused to fix it. All it took to fix it was a new hanger donut.

What a bunch of ******. What kills me is their smarmy attitude and their treating Annie like ****. Plus the fact that if they're going to be so exorbitantly expensive, they better damn well get it right, and act nicer. The paintwork was flawless, although the match on the urethane wasn't perfect (but it's nearly impossible to get the urethane perfect).

Nancy, didn't you know that pessimist is a well-informed optimist?

Default Why do morons always aim for the expensive part of the car, the doors???

Had it only been the front fender the repair time and cost would be so much less.
