Default DTC - Misfire Cylinder 1 More>>

Is a misfire caused my a spark plug or coilpack, how can you tell which one. And is cylinder 1 on the left or right?

Thanx

Swap the plugs between two cylinders and see if the DTC moves to that cylinder

Default That would work too...

To check if the problem in Cyl 1 is the plug, swap the plugs from Cyl 1 & Cyl 2. If the problem now shows up on Cyl 2 & not Cyl 1, then the problem is the plug. If the problem remails on Cyl 1, then it is something else (coilpack, injector, etc.)

Seems to be a pretty common problem to lose a coil pack if it's 2 years old.

Default also .....

when you change the coil pack to a different cylinder some times you get a misfire on the original problem cylinder and the cylinder you moved the coil pack to due to fouled spark plug in the original problem cylinder. if that is the case just remove and clean the plug. that was part of my problem when i was trying to diagnose my car and see if it was the coil pack that went bad or some thing ells.
