Default DV-R owners not using the green spring out there?

What's your setup?

I've got GIAC, N75 Race, and the Forge DVR on a 180Q. It's bothering me that I detect some loss of boost with the DVR running the green spring. Nonetheless I can't seem to find any posts from non-green spring users before experimenting with the others.

Default How are you Detecting boost loss?

Sounds like you need a gauge or a Vag log. Otherwise you're guessing? I've had a green hold fine to 25 psi...

Default Re: How are you Detecting boost loss?

Right now I'm not, and I've got another post out for recommendations in the DC area for installations of gauges.

Which leads me to ask (as in the other post) if boost levels are electrically fed, or if you need to run hoses into the gauge? I don't want to get too far over my head mechanically.

BTW what's the limp mode boost level trigger?

Thank you.

Default Both....>>

On a recommendation, lots of people speak highly of Pro-imports or Curry's or NGP in Aberdeen. Gauges can be fed both ways. Cheap gauges are usually just pressure/vacum fed with tubing. Better gauges (Defi, Blitz, Greddy etc) offer electronic gauges that get their signals from a sender in the engine compartment. These are generally easier and more foolproof to hook up, but considerably more expensive. Limp can be triggered in numerous ways. Temp, Air flow or pressure. Pressure caused limp usually kicks in at 27-29 PSI depending on temps...

Default I went to blue after green didn't work out for me

The green spring made everything nice and smooth, but it was not holding boost--i.e., lost most of my turbo punch at > 4000 rpm. This is all seat of the pants. I am now testing the blue spring, and I've definitely got my boost back.
