Default btw - i adjusted the hatch via striker plate - and...

it is very tight now - but over hard bumps it STILL makes a noise - any way to adjust the top too (make the whole hatch sit tighter to the seal?)

the sound is driving me nuts - it sounds very clunky since I went with new suspension...

thanks for the help

Default The top of the hatch is fixed......>>>

by hinges and can't be rattling on anything. Sure it's the hatch and not the privacy shelf or the rear seats not being latched? (common). I'm embarrased to admit that I dropped a 6 mm socket into the innards of my hatch while doing my spoiler and it is IMPOSSIBLE to retrieve. I'm usually successful in getting it lodged in there somewhere by vigorous turns or appropriate hatch lid shaking. Every couple of months it unlodges itself and rolls around in there! Talk about a PITA. May have to squirt some expanding foam in there to to take care of it permanently!! LOL

Default You can adjust the two rubber "legs" at each corner of the hatch . . .

they sort of sit atop the tail light area. The round circles on either side of the license plate. Look at the two corners of the hatch itself, those are the adjusters.

Default I removed the privacy shelf after about 500 miles...

i know for a fact its the hatch - I removed everything else (including spare and the entire folding carpeted floor piece and the jack assembly and the stow away thingy with the triangle and the velcro piece and the plastic and metal springy thing that holds them and etc etc.) and could clearly hear the hatch - it almost sounds lieks it wrenching up and down on hard bumps. Clearly got better after tightening striker - but still there...
